Uniforms & more…

The school’s uniform is a policy of the Board of Trustees and is required for regular school days for all students in grades 1-8.

Katz Hillel Day School uniform shirts and skirts are available for purchase at the PTA Shoppe located in the school’s main lobby. There are “staffed hours” during which a PTA volunteer can assist with purchases, while front desk assistance is available during all school hours.

To purchase shirts or skirts from the PTA Shoppe, please contact Dvorah Eisen at (561)212-1370, contact@chayasvitamins.com to set up an appointment or, if you know the sizes you need, simply fill out the form at the front desk and your order will be filled. Please make checks payable to Katz Hillel PTA. Shorts and pants may be purchased at a variety of stores (such as Target, Walmart, and Old Navy) that sell uniform bottoms.

Jewish law mandates the wearing of kippot and tzitzit. All boys in grades EC-3 through grade 8 are required to wear Tzitzit and Kippot at all times including recess, physical education classes, and after-school sports. Boys in grades EC-3 through K are required to wear either kippot or a cap. We encourage all students to wear caps with visors during physical education or recess. Caps may not be worn during class in grades 1-8.

Grades 1-5 uniform options are as follows:

Shirts

– short or long sleeved polos with KATZ HILLEL DAY SCHOOL embroidered on the upper left.

– Colors: red, navy, white

Skirts

– Colors: navy or red plaid

– Skirts should cover the knee.

Shorts/Pants

– Colors: navy or khaki (not available in the PTA Shoppe)

– No cargo pants or shorts allowed.

Grades 6-8 uniform options are as follows:

Shirts

– short or long sleeved polos with KATZ HILLEL DAY SCHOOL embroidered on the upper left.

– Colors: gray, navy, white

Skirts

– Colors: navy or blue plaid

– Skirts should cover the knee.

Shorts/Pants (Pants only for 7th and 8th grades)

– Colors: navy or khaki (not available in the PTA Shoppe)

– No cargo pants or shorts allowed.

All grades:

Sweatshirt or Jacket

– Colors: navy

– Pullover, zippered, or hooded, with KATZ HILLEL DAY SCHOOL embroidered on the upper left.

– Plain sweatshirts with no writing on it in white, black, gray, or navy

(not available in the PTA Shoppe)

Tzitzit & Kippot

– All boys in grades EC-3 through grade 8 are required to wear Tzitzit and Kippot at all times

including recess, physical education classes, and after-school sports.

– T-shirt tzitzit and klipped kippot are available for purchase in the PTA Shoppe.
